With a monster weekend coming up in Britain - this may be an opportune moment to introduce or remind you of some of the political humour websites available.
For Congress there ia "The Capitol Steps", which began as a group of congressional staffers entertaining at parties - and now can be seen weekly at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center and elsewhere when they are on tour (they are in California at the moment - all dates are listed here)
The website is regularly updated - and allows you to listen to individual songs and download previously broadcast holiday shows.
In Britain, "Yes Minister" is on tour - this week in Aylesbury. Details of the tour - and lots more, including the blog, can be found here.
Channel 4's website has a page dedicated to cartoons about the Coalition.
Enjoy - and let me know YOUR favourite sources of political humour.
Steve Bell's wicked cartoons can be found on the Guardian's website.
Private Eye Covers are browseable and Searchable here.

Political Humour
If you are a new reader to Washminster, you might not have heard of "The Capitol Steps", a group who perform satirical songs. I've seen them whilst in Washington, buy all their albums - from 1999 onwards, and including "Sixteen Scandals", their compilation album of the earlier recordings - and regularly visit their website.
I also have books of political jokes and anecdotes. These are a few that have a special place on my bookshelves -
As you'll see some anecdotes have US and UK versions - surely they aren't made up?

Listen to Capitol Steps
As regular readers of this blog will know, I am a big fan of Capitol Steps (and even got to see them on a visit to Washington DC). Every year they broadcast specials on particular holidays. This year's July 4th broadcast is now available at http://www.capsteps.com/radio/. I am listening to it (in Milton Keynes) as I write this entry - I hope you enjoy the broadcast - I certainly am!

Christmas with Capitol Steps
If you've been reading Washminster for some time, you'll know that I am a great fan of 'Capitol Steps' - a group who now perform regularly in Washington DC and elsewhere - but who began as a group of congressional staffers poking fun at their bosses. When I was in Alexandria during the election I discovered the office while walking to the campaign office.Over Christmas why not listen to some of their humour? Go to http://www.capsteps.com/ and listen to Christmas numbers such as "Why's the Army Frisking Santa Claus?"; "Jingo All The Way".
Every year they do a live New Years Eve broadcast!
